Buddy Ministry
Our Buddy Ministry is dedicated to children
that require special needs support in KidLife
What is the Buddy Ministry?
Does my child belong in this ministry?
These are just a few examples of a child who may be in need of a buddy: Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delay, Muscular Dystrophy, Cancer, Severe or Extreme Behaviors, Separation Anxiety, and Down Syndrome, among others. If you have specific questions regarding the needs of your child, please contact kidlife@clflife.com.
How does the Buddy Ministry work?
Our goal is to include each child in our KidLife services as much as is possible and tolerable for them. A Buddy will be assigned and trained to assist your child when needed, allowing them to be independent when appropriate and also to provide breaks for your child when necessary.
Each child will be treated individually and modifications to curriculum, crafts, worship, etc. will be made according to your child’s interests, abilities and tolerance. If your child’s disability is such that they are unable to benefit from participating in a traditional KidLife classroom, accommodations will be made to provide a space and activities that are appropriate for them.
Any medications your child may need due to their special need must be given by the parent/guardian and not the Buddy in KidLife.
