  • Resources
  • Statement of Faith
  • Our Statement of Faith
Holy Bible: The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority for determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, the Bible is inspired, infallible and inerrant (see Prov. 30:5; Rom. 16:25,26; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:20,21).

Trinity: There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal (see Gen. 1:26; Isa. 9:6; Matt. 3:16,17; 28:19; Luke 1:35; Heb. 3:7-1 1; I John 5:7).

Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100 percent God and 100 percent man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for humankind and, thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory (see Isa. 9:6; John 1: 1, 14; 20:28; Phil. 2:5,6; 1 Tim. 2:5; 3:16).

Virgin Birth: Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father, through the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity) in the virgin Mary's womb; therefore, He is the Son of God (see Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18,23-25; Luke 1:27-35).

Redemption: Humanity was created good and upright, but by voluntary transgression, it fell. Humanity's only hope for redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (see Gen. 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Rom. 5:12-21).

Regeneration: For anyone to know God, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential (see John 6:44,65).

Salvation: God's main purpose as found throughout Scripture is to call all people into fellowship with Himself. Man was originally created to have fellowship with God but instead chose his own independent way and became alienated from God, suffering the corruption of his nature, leaving him unable to please God. The fall of man happened at the beginning of human history and all individuals since have suffered these consequences and are therefore in need of God's grace. Since God's grace is given freely, it cannot be earned and must be appropriated by repentance and faith in the blood that Jesus shed on the cross (see Rom. 10:9,10; Acts 16:31; Gal. 2:16; 3:8; Eph. 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; Heb. 9:22).

Repentance: Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ, which allows us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Thus, through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation (see Acts 2:21; 3:19; 1 John 1:9).

Sanctification: Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God's Word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of Christ's character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (see Rom. 8:29; 12:1,2; 2 Cor. 3:18; 6:14-18; 1 Thess. 4:3; 5:23; 2 Thess. 2:1-3; Heb. 2:11).

Jesus' Blood: The blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross of Calvary was sinless and is 100 percent sufficient to cleanse humankind from all sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death (see John 1: 29; Rom. 3:10-12,23; 5:9; Col. 1:20; 1 John 1:7; Rev. 1:5; 5:9).

Jesus Christ Indwells All Believers: Christians are people who have invited the Lord Jesus Christ to come and live inside them by His Holy Spirit. They relinquish the authority of their lives over to Him, thus making Jesus the Lord of their lives as well as Savior. They put their trust in what Jesus accomplished for them when He died, was buried and rose again from the dead (see John 1: 12; 14:17,23; 15:4; Rom. 8:1 1; Rev 3:20).

Baptism in the Holy Spirit: Given at Pentecost, the baptism in the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father. It was sent by Jesus after His Ascension to empower the Church to preach the gospel throughout the whole earth (see Joel 2:28,29; Matt. 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5; 2:1-4,17,38,39; 8:14-17; 10:38,44-47; 11:15-17; 19:1-6).

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the Church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection and confirm the power of the gospel. The lists of these gifts in the Bible are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters (see Rom. 1:11; 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:1-31; 14:1-40; Eph. 4:16; 1 Tim. 4:14; 2 Tim. 1: 5-16; Heb. 2:4; 1 Pet. 4: 10).

The Church: The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus' Great Commission. Every person born of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church as a member of the Body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (see John 17:11,20-23; Eph. 1:22; 2:19-22; Heb. 12:23).

    Two Sacraments:
Water Baptism: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name. (see Matt. 28: 1 9; Acts 2:38).

The Lord's Supper: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. (See Matt. 26:26-29; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12,36-38; 10:47,48; 1 Cor. 10:16; 11:23-26).

Healing of the Sick: Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign that is to follow believers. It is also a part of Jesus' work on the cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit (see Ps. 103:2,3; Isa. 53:5; Matt. 8:16,17; Mark 16:17,18; Acts 8:6,7; Rom. 11:29; 1 Cor. 12:9,28; Jas. 5:14-16).

God's Will for Provision: It is the Father's will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of God's will while on earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ's provision in order to serve others.

    • Spiritual (see John 3:3-11; Rom. 10:9,10; 2 Cot 5:17-21). • Mental and emotional (see Isa. 26:3; Rom. 12:2; Phil. 4:7,8; 2 Tim. 1:7; 2:11). • Physical (see Isa. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:17; 1 Pet. 2:24). • Financial (see Deut. 28:1-14; Josh. 1:8; Ps. 34:10- 84:11; Mal. 3:10,11; Luke 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:6-10; Phil. 4:19).

Resurrection: Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. As a result, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected - they that are saved to the resurrection of life, and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation (see Luke 24:16,36,39; John 2:19-21; 20:26-28; 21:4; Acts 24:15; 1 Cor. 15:42,44; Phil. 1:21-23; 3:21).

Heaven: Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ (see Matt. 5:3,12,20,6:20; 19:21; 25:34; John 17:24; 2 Cor. 5:1; Heb. 11:16; 1 Pet. 1:4).

Hell: After living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to hell where they will be eternally tormented with the devil and the fallen angels (see Matt. 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Heb. 9:27; Rev. 14:9-11' 20:12-15; 21:8).

Second Coming: Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures (see Matt. 24:30; 26:63,64; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thess. 4:15-17; 2 Thess. 1:7,8; Rev. 1:7).

  • One Thing
  • In the fall of 2011, CLF launched ONE THING. We know God requires us to be good stewards with the finances and blessings He gives us. Our hope is to have this beautiful church building, our church home, paid in full, as soon as possible, in order that we may have more finances available to help build the Kingdom of God right here in our own community, as well as around the world.

We truly believe that the Body of Christ here at Christian Life Fellowship can do this together day by day, week by week. If everyone is willing to sacrifice that "one thing" each day or each week, it will be amazing what will happen within the next few years. The potential of how God can use our church to make an eternal impact in this community and beyond is truly limitless.

So, here's what we're asking God to do through you:

In order to pay off the remaining balance by or before November of 2015, we're asking each household to sacrifice "one thing" each week (meaning one "extra" thing that you really don't need). Then simply bring that "extra" offering and place it in the "One Thing" receptacles at CLF when you are here worshipping with us. Please remember, we are not asking for your tithes in those receptacles, only your extra "One Thing" gifts. Be assured, all of these offerings will go straight to pay off this mortgage.

Our prayer is that Deuteronomy 28:8 will be true of us here at CLF: The LORD your God is giving you the land, and he will make sure you are successful in everything you do. Your harvests will be so large that your storehouses will be full.

We look forward to seeing what God does in you and through you as you take part in ONE THING in order to make a difference here at CLF. Remember, we are blessed to be a blessing!
  • Prayer Request
  • If you are in need of prayer please email your prayer request to the CLF Prayer Team.

What We Believe

Our Mission Statement: "Loving God, Loving People"
Having a mission statement always looks good on paper, but unless it gets fleshed out in real life, it doesn't mean much. We feel strongly about being "doers" of God's Word and not "hearers" only. For this reason, we've established some criteria of what "Loving God, Loving People" should look like in our everyday lives.

We believe that in order to have the kind of abundant life that Jesus promised us, there must be specific elements regarding lifestyle that are incorporated into our existence which are derived from His teachings.

We believe that there are four essentials which, when lived out, bring the Christ-follower the abundant life we've been promised. We define these four essentials by L.I.F.E., the way in which we, as Christian Life Fellowship, fulfill our vision of Loving God, Loving People. They are:

  • L-Living Relationally
  • In order to live relationally, we have to be involved in people's lives. This can't happen when we seclude ourselves from others.

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
    Hebrews 10:26

It is vital for the life of the Christ-follower to be involved in relationships where they can be accountable for their spiritual growth. True faith is tested within the context of relationships.

"If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother."
    1 John 4:20-21

Living relationally is a biblical pattern that was established in the early church.

"Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people"
    Acts 2:46-47

One of the opportunities to interact relationally with other believers is the Sunday Celebration. We gather weekly to worship together and to express our corporate thanks to our Heavenly Father.

Life Groups are also central to who we are for it is there that you will build relationships and experience much of your spiritual growth. It is in these relationships that we will discover the character of God being formed in our lives and the strength of doing life with those who are like-minded.
  • I-Invest in Serving
  • Another vital part of L.I.F.E. is investing our lives in serving others. Much of society today lives by the motto: "Get all you can, can all you get, then sit on the can."

However, Jesus came into the world to serve not to be served and therefore sets the greatest example of what that looks like. He laid down His life for us so that we might give our lives for the sake of others.

Every Christ-follower has the responsibility to give of themselves in service to the Believers at the church where they attend.

"Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people especially those who belong to the family of believers."
    Galatians 6:10

We also have a mandate from the Lord to serve others outside the Church that are in need.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
    James 1:27

We are commanded to take care of those who can't take care of themselves. Whether it's helping at the Soup Kitchen, building a home for Habitat for Humanity, visiting a nursing home, volunteering at a homeless shelter or orphanage or even simply mowing your neighbor's yard, serving our community is our responsibility as well.

"By this shall all men know that you are my disciples - that you have love for one another."
    John 3:3

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."
    1 John 3:17-18
  • F-Focus on Growing Spiritually
  • God intends for us to continue to grow spiritually. As a matter of fact, all forms of life will continue to mature and grow unless there is some form of defect.

God's design for our spiritual being is no different. We are commanded in scripture to continue to grow spiritually.

"Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so."
    Hebrews 6:1-3

According to this scripture, the first steps of a baby Christian include the recognition of sins and the repentance of them. This process also includes having faith in God that He is able to forgive you of your sins.

Jesus said that when we commit our lives to following Him, our spirits are born-again and a whole new life begins within us.

With this wonderful gift of new life, we are responsible for its growth and maturation. Jesus also said that when some people hear the Gospel it's like a "seed that fell among thorns: they hear it but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop."
    Luke 8:14-15

We must continue to water the seed of life that has been planted within us. God's goal for us is to mature into the image of Christ.

"If you continue in my Word, then you are my disciples indeed. And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."
  • E-Engage the Lost
  • We also have the responsibility to share God's love with others by telling them about salvation through faith in Christ.

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
    Romans 10:13-15

We believe it's God's desire to save all those who are lost. We, therefore, apply ourselves to sharing our testimony with others and believe that God provides divine opportunities for us to do so.

Every person has a sphere of influence that they live in whether it's their neighborhood, at work, school, ball fields or other places wherein they connect with people. These places are by the design of God for you to be in to bring His light and hope of Salvation.

"He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."
    Mark 16:15

We also will encounter people within our spheres of influence by which God has provided us an opportunity to share our testimony. We must be willing at all times to share of what God has done in our lives.

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,"
    1 Peter 3:15

What to Expect

If you want to wear blue jeans or a suit and tie, we welcome you to Christian Life Fellowship just as you are!
